Dear Sister,

Have you ever just wanted to rest? Sit down? Take a nap? But feel as though you have too much to do and not enough time because you are a wife, a mommy, a full-time employee, a student, a community activist, an entrepreneur, a caretaker and the list can go on and on. Recently, I have made a conscious decision to prioritize rest like it's one of my job duties. I placed rest time on my calendar like a scheduled appointment.

It's NOT easy living day-to-day without rest, quiet time and just a moment to recharge. Especially if you have a family with small children, dishes to clean and meal prepping continually.

It's so easy to get caught up in everything that must be done!

This is why rest time is critical. How do we expect to be our best selves, sober-minded and make Godly decisions when tired? As I rest God can put me back on course if I am off, fill me up with His word and provide me with His next set of instructions.

Without recharging time, I would be running on empty. Running on empty means tired and tired can lead to headaches, irritation and even poor decision-making.

Do you want to be on empty or fully charged?

I was once in the place you may be right now, running on empty, tired, overwhelmed and trying to do it ALL in my own strength. I have good news for you! You do not have to live that way. You are a daughter of the King! This means that you can go to the father and give him all your cares.

Sis, if you are currently flustered and overtired, rest. Take a nap. Watch a movie. Enjoy life.

Before you feel like you need to resume life by picking up every responsibility ask God the following:

  • What’s important for me to do?
  • Is there anything I should not be doing?
  • Can you help me Lord?
  • Can you give me the strength to do what you are asking me to do?

Remember God will direct our paths, we don't have to do it. He is waiting on us to come to Him with all that we have so He can give us so much more.

As you enjoy the holiday with your family remember to rest and ask for help when needed.

With Love,

Bianca
