Know when you say YES, you go to WAR!
What do I mean by saying yes...saying yes to God...saying yes to what He has called you to do...being obedient to His Word...being willing to be used as an example for His glory...when you chose to live for Christ, your flesh is continually being put to death.
About two weeks ago now, I was battling for my life in my mind. The enemy will hit you where it hurts. If he can’t get you in your physical body, he will try to get you in your mind, your thought life, in the meditations of your heart. Be aware of the devices that he tries to use against you to keep you down.
I was battling in my mind, I could barely think straight, my thoughts were cloudy and as soon as I recognized the signs I began to pray, worship and read scripture that could pull me out of this cloud of darkness that was trying to overtake my mind. It’s critical to have your arsenal of weapons ready to fight back.
Here are a few weapons you need in your arsenal.
- Prayer life
- The Word
- Praise and worship
- Community
These weapons pulled me through this battle in my mind.
Can I tell you with the dark cloud of depressive thoughts that attempted to keep me down and bound me, it began to affect my physical energy. After a good nights rest, I would wake up tired and not understand why. I would be sluggish. I was struggling Y'all. I mean seriously!
I am here to tell you today if you are at battle, know that you are not alone. Know that the enemy is trying to distract you, and keep you from saying yes again and again. Know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Know that you have a purpose and an expected end. Don’t be fooled today. Don’t stay down in discouragement. And if you need to seek counseling, get the help you need. There is no shame in that.
