"How do I do it all???"

Inquiring minds want to know, “How do I do it all???”

So here’s the scoop. About a week ago, the announcement went out at work that I graduated from graduate school at work. Many of my colleagues did not know I was pursuing my Master's degree. Many of my colleagues do know that I am married with kids though. As I reviewed the congratulatory emails and had conversations with my peers this question arose“how did you do it?”

In my mind it was simple, late nights, little to no social life, and weekends spent in front of my computer; why because a sister got goals coupled with a supportive husband who made sacrifices to help me get to the finish line. A better question is how did we (my husband and I) do it?

God’s grace and mercy were upon us. I have no doubt that God gave me the strength and focus to stay up and write papers, read chapters and go to class. Managing wifedom, motherhood, school, Behind the Confident Smile, emotional, spiritual and physical well-being is the short list. When God prompts you to move forward He will grace you with the time, resources and support to do it! Our family and friends supported us along the way with prayers, babysitting, feeding us and encouraging words. My response to that question is I didn’t do it all. It took teamwork, sacrifice, significant planning, and preparation. Down to meal prepping our food a week in advance for the upcoming days.

When God has given you a charge over your life every minute counts. Every moment is critical. Every decision matters. Every thought and action needs to be intentional. Because there is NO, I mean NO time to waste. Your level of discipline must go up a notch. Your self-motivation must increase because there may not always be cheerleaders up with you in the midnight hours when you rather sleep or watch a movie.

Remembering God’s promises for your life and know that it comes with sacrifice. Change is inevitable when living for God. On this journey, you will mature and become a better version of yourself.

That’s my response to “how I did it all?” I didn’t...it was a team effort.

What you are attempting to accomplish? Are you going at it alone? Or do you have a team with you?
